About me.
I am a qualified nurse with years of experience. I am a mother of 2, and have been put through my paces with them over the years: frequent hospital visits and medical emergencies to keep me busy! My son being an avid rugby player, has had his fair share of injuries and concussions, and I have been the pitch side medic during matches. My daughter has danced all her life and was constantly straining, spraining or breaking something! Currently 16 and 19, I am now educating them rather than treating them!
My background is Intensive Care and Accident and Emergency Nursing, which set me up for a life long passion to save lives.
I moved into Industry, where I developed my skills and interest to teach, teaching other nurses and medical personnel in disease management.
I continued using all my skills during a family sabbatical, where we sailed to Australia. Many medical emergencies occurred which required immediate attention.
For the last 10 years, while setting up the nursing service in an independent school and being the school nurse, I have been teaching First Aid to pupils and staff. I have a passion for supporting Mental health and aims to improve awareness in the workplace by teaching Mental Health first aid and supporting businesses to have a mentally healthier working environment.
I am passionate about empowering as many people as possible not only to save a life, but to learn First Aid skills to be able to manage a medical issue, accident or condition with competence and confidence and to reduce the strain on the NHS.
